Ce groupe londonien a pratiqué vis-à-vis du folklore anglais la recette que les Byrds avaient appliqué à la musique traditionnelle américaine: l'apport des rythmes du rock et des instruments électriques. Il a révélé la voix cristalline de Sandy Denny et le talent du guitariste, hanteur et compositeur Richard Thompson.
